Excused: Liz Keller, Jerry Bzdawka, Alderperson Peggy Clark 1. Call to order- Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Cyndi Kieck. 2. Agenda additions/ announcements/ information- No changes to the agenda. 3. Approval of the minutes from the September 10, 2020 meeting- Matt Damon moved to approve the minutes seconded by Vicki Dominski, motion carried. 4. Medical Advisor Report- Dr. Scalzitti reported on Influenza activity in Milwaukee County. Influenza vaccination levels have increased. Influenza like illness being reported is low in Wisconsin in comparison to other states. Hopefully with the protective measures in place for COVID, this will stay low. In review of an update from the American College of Physicians the general safety of the COVID vaccine looks promising. 5. Public Health Administrator Report- Continue to administer influenza vaccines at our clinics. New this year was a children’s flu clinic that went well. Continue with minimal routine services as all staff are addressing COVID. 6. Coronavirus (COVID-19) update- Continue to receive record number of cases of COVID. Have gone to a prioritization on disease investigation and limited contact tracing. Testing site started in October, had to request two increases in test kit allocations due to the volume of people seen at this site. The site will continue until December 9. Working on vaccination planning. The State Department of Health Services has a plan for distribution of vaccines when they become available based on a tiered approach. There are State workgroups and one of our public health nurse’s is on the administration workgroup. Funding from the Federal CARES Act is set to expire December 30, 2020. As 100% of staff are working on COVID response not sure how we will fund response into 2021. There is interest in a few Boards of Health in drafting something similar. Should that get movement, the Public Health Administrator may request a special meeting for advisement and discussion. 7.
