City Council Study Session

City of Spearfish City Council Study Session Minutes March 27, 2024, 4:15 p.m. The City Council Study Session was called to order by Mayor Senden at 4:16 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. The following c o u n c i l members were present: Clark, Hodgs, Hourigan, Jacobs, Klarenbeek, and Rath. City staff present were: Finance Officer DeNeui, City Attorney McDonald, Public Works Director McMahon, Assistant Planning Director Ecker, Public Safety Director Rotert, Fire Chief Deaver, Deputy Fire Chief Ziegler, and Interim Parks and Recreation Director McDonald. Rath moved, Hourigan seconded, and all voted to approve the agenda. Updates – Assistant Planning Director Ecker gave a presentation on how the city currently uses the Geographic Information System and opportunities for expanded uses. Finance Officer DeNeui presented the 2025 budget process calendar, April 10 through September 30, 2024. Draft Agenda – The draft agenda for the April 1, 2024, City Council Regular Session was reviewed. The public comment period was opened and closed at 4:45 p.m. with no comments received. Hourigan moved, Jacobs seconded, and all voted to go into executive session pursuant to SDCL 1- 25-2(1) for the purpose of discussing the qualifications, competence, performance, character or fitness of any public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee at 4:46 p.m. The council returned to regular session at 5:27 p.m. Jacobs moved, Rath seconded, and all voted to adjourn the meeting at 5:27 p.m.
