City of Spearfish Legal, Finance, and Public Safety Committee Minutes January 13, 2021 The Legal, Finance and Public Safety Committee met at 4:15 p.m. via Zoom videoconference system on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 with the following committee members present: Jacobs, Klarenbeek and Lee. Absent: None. Also present were: City Administrator Harmon, City Attorney McDonald, City Planner Watson, Public Safety Director Rotert, Fire Chief Ladson, and Finance Officer DeNeui. Volunteers – Committee recommended to full council, consent agenda, to add Lucas Hogrefe, Zachary Carey, William Hover, and Hans Grassman to the 2021 Volunteer Fire Department list. Planning & Zoning Resolution 2021-01 – Committee recommended to full council to hold a public hearing and approve Resolution 2021-01 – A Resolution to Vacate a Public Access Easement Located on Tract A, of the Oak Draw Subdivision, General Townsite of Spearfish, City of Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota, as Shown on Plat Document No. 2012-5297 as Recorded in the Office of the Lawrence County Register of Deeds. Authorization for Mayor Boke to sign a new public easement agreement with Shirley Meier will following the action on the resolution during the meeting. Input – City Planner Watson noted an input session will be held during the full council session regarding a request for zoning approval adjacent to city limits for the Heartland Subdivision. Public Safety Proposal – Committee recommended to full council to accept the proposal from Alex Air Apparatus for Drager Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment at a cost of $238,870.25, funded from Fire Capital. Public Comment The public comment section was opened at 4:21 p.m. and closed with no comments. No additional discussions were held and the meeting was adjourned at 4:23 p.m.
