CITY OF SPEARFISH 625 Fifth Street, Spearfish S.D. 57783 Telephone: (605) 642-1333 Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Advisory Board – MINUTES Thursday, October 20, 2016 I Spearfish Rec Center- Party Room I 5:00 pm Randy call meeting to order 5:04 pm APPROVAL OF AGENDA - motion by John and 2ndBarb; motion carried APPROVAL OF MINUTES - motion by John and 2nd Chris; motion carried Members/Staff Present – Chris, Randy, John, Barb, Marty, (staff) Keith, Brett, Crissy, Kayla, Stephanie ITEMS FROM VISITORS (Policy Note: Visitors are limited to 5 minutes of presentation followed by questions) Steve Williams- Rec Center Assessment (will be present for Council side of meeting) OLD BUSINESS Brett Rauterkus- presented a change to the Donation policy: voted on by a 3 member committee. Donations will be listed in the monthly meeting agenda under Consent agenda and a review of all donations at the final meeting of the year. 3 member committee consisting of Barb, Karen and Chris; will evaluate and vote to approve the donation. Line item 2 and 4 combined to state the request limit to include $200 per event per calendar year. Motion to review recommended changes presented by Brett and final changes presented at the next meeting in November. Motion by Barb- 2nd by John; motion carried NEW BUSINESS Sports Field Briefing Prep for Council Workshop- Randy reviewed the line items for the Council special session starting at 5:30 pm. Council Agenda Code of Ethics Lookout room phases Sports Field preparation Rec Path master plan Potential restructuring of Rec Center staffing PRFA BOARD ITEMS Randy called a December meeting on the 15th at 7am City Hall. Randy also talked about a board Social and deferred to next meeting for discussion. Forestry Items Keith reported on another grant from the Forestry.
