Spearfish Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes Tuesday, June 20, 2017 The Spearfish Planning Commission met in regular session on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the council chambers of Spearfish City Hall. Members present: Toby Bordewyk, Dan Green, Greg Kruskamp, Bob Meyer, and Barbara Zwetzig. Members absent: Jim Hopewell, Larry Vavruska. Also present: City Planner Jayna Watson and City Attorney Eric Davis. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bordewyk at 3:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Green moved to approve the minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of June 6, 2017 as presented. The motion was seconded by Zwetzig and passed unanimously. DECLARATION OF CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: Bordewyk asked for any potential conflicts of interest to be identified. None were declared. 1. A Request for Voluntary Annexation and a concurrent change of zoning from County Agriculture (AG) to Single Family Residential (R-1). Applicant: Jeffery and LeAnn Huck Location: 1010 Christensen Drive, Lot A of NW¼SW¼ of Section 24, T6N, R2E, BHM City Planner Jayna Watson summarized the information presented in her staff report dated June 20, 2017. The applicant, LeAnn Huck, while not present in the audience, was available via telephone. Bordewyk opened the public hearing at 3:08 p.m. No comments were made and the public hearing was closed at 3:09 p.m. Motion was made by Kruskamp and seconded by Zwetzig to recommend approval of the request for voluntary annexation and concurrent change of zoning from County Agriculture (AG) to Single Family Residential (R-1) on property legally described as Lot A of NW¼SW¼ of Section 24, T6N, R2E, located at 1010 Christensen Drive. Upon vote taken thereon, the motion carried unanimously. 2. Development Review District (DRD) zoning ordinance text review. Applicant: City of Spearfish Location: All areas zoned DRD City Planner Jayna Watson presented a proposed scope of work to guide the upcoming review of the DRD zoning ordinance text slated to occur during the next few months. CITY COUNCIL ITEMS: Watson reported briefly on matters before the city council last night. Due to the Independence Day holiday, the planning commission changed its first meeting in July to Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 3 p.m. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the commission, Bordewyk adjourned the meeting at 4:22 p.m. Page 1 of 1 6/30/2017 7:51 AM
