Spearfish Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes Thursday, July 6, 2017 The Spearfish Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the council chambers of Spearfish City Hall. Members present: Toby Bordewyk, Jim Hopewell, Greg Kruskamp, Bob Meyer, Drew Skjoldal, Larry Vavruska and Barbara Zwetzig. Members absent: Dan Green. Also present: City Planner Jayna Watson and City Attorney Eric Davis. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bordewyk at 3:00 p.m. At this time, the commission took a moment to welcome Drew Skjoldal, who was formally appointed to the Planning Commission at the city council meeting on Monday, July 3, 2017. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Kruskamp moved to approve the minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of Tuesday, June 20, 2017 as presented. The motion was seconded by Vavruska and passed unanimously. DECLARATION OF CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: Bordewyk asked for any potential conflicts of interest to be identified. None were declared. 1. Development Review District (DRD) zoning ordinance text review. Applicant: City of Spearfish Location: All areas zoned DRD City Planner Jayna Watson presented a comprehensive overview of additional DRD zoning ordinance text revisions proposed based on discussion during the planning commission workshop on June 20, 2017. Further review and discussion ensued and additional minor revisions were recommended. A final draft of the revised DRD zoning ordinance text will be considered at the next planning commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, 2018. Motion was made by Kruskamp, seconded by Zwetzig and carried unanimously to set a public hearing for Tuesday, August 1, 2017 to review the proposed phase I revisions to the DRD zoning ordinance text. CITY COUNCIL ITEMS: Watson reported briefly on matters before the city council last night.
