Spearfish Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes Tuesday, May 15, 2018 The Spearfish Planning Commission met in regular session on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the council chambers at Spearfish City Hall. Members present: Toby Bordewyk, Dan Green, Greg Kruskamp, Bob Meyer, Drew Skjoldal, Larry Vavruska and Barbara Zwetzig. Absent: Jim Hopewell. Also present: City Planner Jayna Watson, Assistant City Planner Desirae Mayo and City Attorney Eric Davis. Chairman Zwetzig called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Kruskamp moved to approve the minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of Tuesday, May 1, 2018 as presented. The motion was seconded by Vavruska and upon vote taken thereon passed unanimously. DECLARATION OF CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: Zwetzig asked for any potential conflicts of interest to be identified. None were declared. 1. Updates to The Revised Ordinances of the City of Spearfish, Appendix A – Zoning, Article II, Definitions and Article IV, District Regulations, Sections 1b., 5, 6, 7, and 7a, pertaining to Permitted and Conditional Use Permits in Agricultural (AG), Central Commercial (C-1), Central Core Commercial (CC), Highway Service Commercial (C2) and Office Commercial (C-3) zoning districts. Applicant: City of Spearfish Location: All commercial zoning districts City Planner Jayna Watson presented an overview of the detailed information provided in the staff report pertaining to this extensive zoning ordinance text update. An in-depth review of the proposed revisions presented in ordinance form ensued and additional suggestions were offered for consideration. The commission requested an opportunity for further review and opted not to set a public hearing date at this time. CITY COUNCIL UPDATE: Watson commented briefly on matters before the council at the meeting last evening. City Attorney Eric Davis introduced Legal Intern Alexa Moeller. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the commission, Zwetzig adjourned the meeting at 4:10 p.m.
