THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes September 18, 2017 CALL TO ORDER Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present: Doug D’Albini Laila Reis George Eshnaur Darrell Beck Absent: Mark Squire Staff Present: Ryan Crowley, Parks Superintendent Meeting Attendees: None APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by George Eshnaur, seconded by Darrell Beck to approve the agenda. Motion carried. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: August 21, 2017 Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by George Eshnaur to approve minutes. Motion carried. DISCUSSION 2. Planning Commission provided the plot plans for Dayton Creek and the Parks Advisory Board recommendation for Boulder Springs from 2007. 3. Lake Rules – Discussion will be held at a later meeting. Mr. Crowley suggested looking at surrounding City’s lakes that are comparable in size to gain ideas for the new lake rules to be implemented at Veteran’s Park. 4. Special Event Recycling – There is not currently a City ordinance that addresses required restroom facilities, trash or recycling for special events. The City Clerk is researching options in hopes to introduce an ordinance that would help ensure special events have sufficient facilities available for the community. Spring Hill Young Professionals Carnival will be held October 19, 2017 at the Community Center from 6pm-8pm. The Parks Advisory Board will be participating to bring awareness to the Parks Advisory Board. 6. Fall Festival Event Planning – Laila will be at the booth from 8 am – 11 am, Doug from 11 am – 2 pm and George from 2pm – 5pm. STAFF REPORTS  Veteran’s Park concept drawings have been provided by Vireo for staff review. ANNOUNCEMENTS & REPORTS  Mr. Beck is eagerly anticipating the Veteran’s Park stakeholder meeting with the design company Vireo.  Mr. Beck announced his resignation from the Parks Advisory Board effective October 17, 2017. OTHER BUSINESS ADJOURN Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by Darrell Beck to adjourn. Motion carried.
