THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes August 19, 2019 CALL TO ORDER Chairman Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Board Members in Attendance: Doug D’Albini Tommy Holland Carol Thomas Derek Buckridge Board Members Absent: Mark Squire Staff in Attendance: Melanie Landis, Assistant City Administrator Jim Boyer, Interim Director of Public Works Dillon Jones, Parks Superintendent Dora Davison, Administrative Assistant – Public Works PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL The Secretary called the roll of the Parks Advisory Board. With a quorum present, the meeting commenced. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Carol Thomas, seconded by Tommy Holland, to approve the agenda. Motion carried 4-0-0. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION There was no Citizen Participation. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: July 15, 2019 Motion by Carol Thomas, seconded by Doug D’Albini, to approve the July 15, 2019 meeting minutes. Motion carried 4-0-0. DISCUSSION Finance & Budget Review, Melanie Landis, Assistant City Administrator Ms. Landis provided a detailed explanation of Special Park Fund revenue and expenditures, Special Parks budget projections and 2020-2024 CIP. STAFF REPORT • Mr. Boyer introduced Dillon Jones, Parks Superintendent. • Mr. Boyer reported that the Veterans Park is open for public access however as construction progresses public access will be reevaluated regularly. • Ms. Thomas & Mr. Buckridge voiced concerns of the walking trail safety in the Meadows Subdivision. City Staff will determine ownership of the path to address the safety concerns. • The Board showed interest in participating with a booth at Fall Festival. Staff will secure a booth space. Further discussion on booth activity will be at the September meeting. ADJOURN Motion by Tommy Holland, seconded by Carol Thomas, to adjourn. Motion carried 4-0-0.
