The St. Charles Board of Adjustment will meet on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. on the
fourth floor of City Hall in the City Council Chambers to consider the following matters:
Call to Order and Call the Roll
1. Case No. BOA-2016-17. Address: 3212 Tally Ho Drive (Barteau Family Trust – Pete & Pat
Barteau). Request to decrease the minimum rear yard setback, specifically for a residential
addition, from 25 feet to 15.8 feet as required in §400.150(E)(5)(c) of the City of St. Charles
Code of Ordinances. The zoning for the subject property is R-1E Single-Family Residential
District (Ward 1).
2. Case No. BOA-2016-18. Address: 1005-1015 South Fifth Street (Fifth Street Plaza Company
– Ziglin Signs). Three (3) Requests. 1st - Request to increase the maximum height of a
freestanding sign from 6 feet to 11.67 feet as regulated in §400.1560(A)(1), 2 nd – Request to
increase the maximum size of a freestanding sign from 24 square feet to 75.11 square feet
as regulated in §400.1560(A)(1) and 3rd – Request to decrease the minimum size of a tenant
panel on a freestanding sign from 8 square feet to 6.6 square feet as regulated in
§400.1720(A)(4)(b) of the City of St. Charles Code of Ordinances. The zoning for the subject
property is T4-NMX Neighborhood Mixed-Use District (Ward 2).
