On Monday, February 22, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., the City of St. Charles Landmarks Board will
hold its regular monthly meeting in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall,
200 North Second Street, St. Charles, Missouri. The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
Attention Applicants: It is necessary that you or a knowledgeable representative of your interests be
present at the meeting to answer any questions the Board may have concerning your application.
Failure to provide answers to the Board’s questions may result in your application being tabled or
denied.
1. Call to order and call the roll.
2. Consent Agenda
(A) Case No. C/A 2016-01(EC). 562 Jefferson Street. Jeff Droste. The applicant is
requesting approval to add a small shed dormer to the rear slope of the roof.

(B) Case No. C/A 2016-03(EC). 607 North Fifth Street. Charlie Bruere. The
applicant is requesting approval to replace a portion of the fence along the north

(C) Case No. C/A 2016-04(EC). 630 South Third Street. Edie and Terry Matejka.
The applicants are requesting approval to install fencing in the rear yard.

applicant is requesting approval to install a 4-foot tall wood picket fence.

(E) Case No. C/A 2016-02(SP). 620 S. Second Street. Joseph and Bridget Farmer.
The applicants are requesting approval to create a walk-out basement by
excavating an area along the rear wall, replacing a basement window with a door
and installing a retaining wall. [Extended Historic Preservation District, Ward 2]
(F) Permit No. 16-353. 427 North Kingshighway. Gregory Astroth. The applicant is
requesting approval to install a freestanding sign for Richter & Astroth, LLC.

(G) Permit No. 16-473. 115 McDonough Street. The Gorski Group, LLC. The
applicant is requesting approval of a wall-mounted sign. [South Main Preservation

(H) Case No. C/A 2016-01(SP). 115 McDonough Street. The Gorski Group, LLC.
The applicant is requesting approval to re-roof, replace siding on one elevation,
install a fence and hot tub, and build a pergola or gabled pavilion over the hot tub.

(I) Case No. C/A 2016-08(EC). 117 South Main Street. Jim Droste, Droste & Sons
Construction. The applicant is requesting approval to replace the front stairway

5. Structure Review
Section 400.1180 Purpose
The purpose of this subchapter is to protect, enhance, and perpetrate buildings,
structures, districts, and sites of historical, cultural, architectural, engineering or
geographic significance. Further, protection of cultural assets from demolition by
neglect is an objective of this subchapter.
Please note: Obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Board
does not authorize the applicant to build a structure. Building permits are required
prior to construction.

applicant is requesting approval to build a deck on the rear of the house.

applicant is requesting approval to add a small gablet over the main entrance.
