A. 2013 Diversity Distinction Awards - Selection
Giallombardo stated that she received a total of nine nominations. She Members
read through each nominee and discussed the merits of each. She distributed the
nominations to the members.
The following nominees were voted on and approved to receive a Diversity
Distinction award:
o Kaszubski, Al-Hassan & Sadaps CPA
o Galleria Monique
o UAW Community Angels
o Nurses of Beaumont Hospital, Troy
o Wayne Oehmke
o William Antoun
o Jeralda Hattar
o 17th Street Bar & Grill
Michigan Woodcarvers Assocation – Sterling Heights chapter

Giallombardo stated that there will be a small reception in the lobby at 7:00 p.m., prior to the City Council meeting.
Giallombardo asked if members would like to supply the appetizers, as was done in the past.
Najor offered to bring a veggie tray, Singh will bring baklava, Allen will bring cheese & crackers.
Members that would like to bring something, please let Giallombardo know and she will forward it along to everyone.
Giallombardo stated that the city will provide water, coffee, cookies and paper products.
B. 2014 Cultural Exchange
Giallombardo stated that she has received a couple participation forms. She encouraged members to continue distributing
the forms and soliciting donations.
Pulford suggested that the committee reach out to the boy scout and girl scout troops, stating that they may be interested in
attending. Giallombardo said she will obtain a mailing list and send out the participation forms to the schools.
7. Receipt of Correspondence: None.
8. New Business:
Naumovski congratulated the City Council on getting the Safe Streets millage
passed.
9. Old Business:
Giallombardo reminded members that Christine Sauve, from Welcoming
Michigan, would like short bios from the committee members so that she can
highlight them on the Welcoming Michigan website.
Please submit your bio to Giallombardo and she can forward it to Sauve.
10. Adjournment. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
