MINUTES STERLING HEIGHTS HOUSING COMMISSION JUNE 12, 2012 Call To Order by President Miller at 6:01 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation. Roll Call. Present: Miller, Suwinski, and Walker. Absent: Venetis (excused). Also Present: Executive Director Stephanie Burgess, Regional Manager Sabrina Gaddy, Service Coordinator Kristen Kovach, Manager Rachel Tononi, and Maintenance Tech Jeanie Francis. Approval of Agenda. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker, to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes: All. Approval of Minutes. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker, to approve the May 8, 2012 minutes as presented. Ayes: All. Executive Director Report. Ms. Burgess reported that the July 10, 2012 SHHC meeting would be canceled. The next SHHC meeting would be held on August 14, 2012. Monthly Financial Reports. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker to approve the April and May 2012 Monthly Operating Summaries. Ayes: All. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker to approve the April and May 2012 Section 8 Voucher Program Operating Summaries. Ayes: All. Service Coordinator Report. The Service Coordinator assisted 9 residents in May. Programs for the month of May included "Stroke Talk" and "Mother’s Day Tea". Public Housing Report. Schoenherr Towers was 98% occupied with 33 applicants on the waiting list, 20 leasing calls received. Marketing action was taken through the City of Sterling Heights website and newsletter. There were 2 move-outs, and 2 move-ins. Section 8 Report. Currently all vouchers are leased and/or issued. Maintenance Report. There were 8 emergency service requests, 57 year-to-date. There were 123 service requests, 1,164 year-to-date. Two service requests were outstanding. The roof canopy project was completed. The office HVAC and final round of toilet replacements will start soon. Business. 1. Monthly Management Reports. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker to approve the monthly management reports as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All. 2. Housing Assistance Program Register & Utility Payables. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker to approve the Housing Assistance payments as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All. 3. Amendment to the Section 8 Administrative Plan. Moved by Suwinski, support by Walker, to approve the amendment to the Section 8 Administrative Plan as presented. Ayes: All. Public Participation. None Adjourn.
