Consent Agenda - An ordinance to accept and appropriate project income for the Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program – Second Reading Approved 7-0 7. Consent Agenda - An ordinance to accept and appropriate interest accrued in the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Program – Second Reading Approved 7-0 8. Resolution - A resolution reaffirming the Fairgrounds Redevelopment Plan Approved 7-0 20. Resolution - A resolution to approve the request to advertise a public hearing at the October 4, 2006, City Council meeting to receive public comment about the Direct Election of the Mayor Approved 7-0 21. Staff Report - 29th Annual Suffolk Peanut Fest – “Break Out of Your Shell” – October 12 – 15, 2006 No City Council action required. 22. Staff Report - Hampton Roads Sanitation District Joint Billing No City Council action required. 23. Motion - A motion to schedule a Work Session for Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at 4:00 p.m., unless called earlier or canceled by the Mayor Approved 7-0 24. Motion - A motion to set the date of Thursday, October 5, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., for a joint meeting with City Council and Congressman J. Randy Forbes in the City Council Conference Room Approved 7-0 25. Motion - A motion to schedule a City Council Retreat for Friday, October 26, 2006, at 5:30 p.m. thought Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 12 noon at the Economic Development Conference Room Approved 7-0 3 A motion to amend the agenda to consider the following items was approved by a vote of 7-0: Appointments for the Virginia Municipal League voting delegate and alternate delegate at the 2007 Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference Business Session – Mayor Linda T. Johnson and Vice Mayor Curtis R. Milteer, Sr. Approved 7-0 Appointment for the Virginia Municipal League voting delegate, alternate, and staff assistant at the 2007 Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference Urban Section Business Meeting – Mayor Linda T. Johnson, Vice Mayor Curtis R. Milteer, Sr. and Interim City Manager James Vacalis Approved 7-0 A resolution of Suffolk City Council authorizing the City Manager to execute a cost participation agreement with Virginia Regional I, L.L.C.
