Suffolk to provide for the direct election of the Mayor

- An ordinance amending Chapter 26 entitled “Elections” of the Code of the City of
Suffolk, Virginia, changing the election of Council Members and School Board
Members from May to the General Election in November

13. Public Hearing - A resolution requesting the General Assembly to amend the Charter of
the City of Suffolk to grant it the authority to hold referenda elections
Approved 4-3 (Council Member Barlow, Council Member Brown and
Council Member Gardy voting in opposition.)
14. Motion - A motion to schedule a Work Session for November 15, 2006, at 4:00 p.m.,
unless canceled

A motion to amend the agenda to consider the following items was
approved by a vote of 7-0:
A motion to reappoint Margaret W. Jones to the Western Tidewater
Community Services Board.

A motion to approve a resolution supporting the United States Fish and
Wildlife Service Challenge Cost Share Fund Program Application for
the Great Dismal Swamp Exhibit.
