Consent Agenda - An ordinance to accept and appropriate a State Appropriation Grant award from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources for the Great Dismal Swamp Interpretive Center Project - First Reading Approved 7-0 8. Smith, on behalf of Obici Place Investors, LC, contract purchasers, on behalf of the City of Suffolk, property owners, for a change in zoning for approximately 27.5 acres of land from B2, General Commercial to MUD, Mixed Use Development Overlay District Approved 5-2, Council Members Bennett and Brown voted in opposition 11. Public Hearing - Rezoning Request RZ14-06 (Conditional), Murphy’s Mill Condominiums, submitted by George Powell on behalf of Powell Development, property owner, to amend proffered conditions limiting the minimum age of owners from 62 to 55 years of age and to delete the requirement to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Murphy’s Mill Road and North Main Street Approved 6-0-1, Council Member Gardy abstained 12. Public Hearing - Conditional Use Permit C11-06, submitted by Art Berkley, on behalf of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, property owner, to permit the expansion of a religious assembly activity in accordance with Sections 31-306 and 31-406 of the Unified Development Ordinance Approved 7-0 A motion to amend the agenda to consider the following item was approved 7-0: Reappointment of Mary Hill to the Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities Appointment of Randy Hicks to the Historic Landmarks Commission Reappointment of Mary Peele Herndon to the Suffolk Redevelopment Housing Authority Board of Commissioners 13. Motion - A motion to schedule a Work Session for February 7, 2007, at 4:00 p.m., unless canceled Approved 7-0 14.
