City of Sunnyvale Meeting Minutes Arts Commission Wednesday, November 16, 2016 7:00 PM Neighborhood Room - Recreation Center, Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 CALL TO ORDER Chair Koppel called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. in the Neighborhood Room. SALUTE TO THE FLAG Chair Koppel led the salute to the flag. ROLL CALL Present: 4 - Chair David Koppel Vice Chair Roberta Kiphuth Commissioner Robert Lawson Commissioner Dustin Nguyen Absent: 1 - Commissioner Susannah Vaughan Commissioner Vaughan absence is excused. Council Liaison Davis (absent). PRESENTATION 16-0976 PRESENTATION - Teen Advisory Committee Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) Historian Arvind Vallabha provided the Commission with a presentation that highlighted the role and responsibilities of the Advisory Committee as well as highlights of recent accomplishments and upcoming events. Commissioners inquired about TAC popular events, community service efforts and the schools that are involved in TAC. The TAC representative indicated their most popular events include a blood drive and "Flick and Float". TAC hopes to have more community service oriented events in the near future. CONSENT CALENDAR 16-0977 Approval of Draft Minutes of September 21, 2016 Commissioner Lawson moved, and Commissioner Kiphuth seconded, approval of the Consent Calendar as presented. The motion was carried by the following vote: Yes: 3 - Chair Koppel Vice Chair Kiphuth Commissioner Lawson No: 0 Absent: 1 - Commissioner Vaughan Abstain: 1 - Commissioner Nguyen PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS 16-0978 Annual Review of Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and Appointed Officials The Commission was provided with the 2016 Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and Appointed Officials. Chair Koppel moved and Commissioner Kiphuth seconded, approval of the 2016 Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and Appointed Officials as presented. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 3 - Chair Koppel Vice Chair Kiphuth Commissioner Lawson No: 0 Absent: 1 - Commissioner Vaughan Abstain: 1 - Commissioner Nguyen STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES None.
