ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING in Council Chambers @ 7:00 p.m. June 13, 13 1. CALL TO ORDER: Dir. of Law Raber called the Organizational Meeting of Thursday, June 13, 2013 to order at 6:45 p.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: 3. ROLL CALL: Mr. Sarver, Mrs. Kilway, Mrs. Ray, Mr. Sisak, Mr. Donovan, Mr. Stalnaker, Mr. Maguire – present. Also present were Mayor Kline, Dir. of Pub. Service Esler, Dir. of Finance Shanafelt, Dir. of Law Raber, Economic Developer Loughry and Clerk of Council Burton. 4. ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL. PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL ASSUMES CHAIR. Dir. of Law: The first order of business this evening is the election of President of Council. Are there any nominations? Mr. Donovan: I would nominate Mr. Maguire. Dir. of Law: Are there any other nominations? No one responded. Hearing none, I will close nominations. All those in favor of Robert Maguire to serve as Council President and we will do a roll call vote. Susan would you call the roll? Clerk of Council: Mrs. Kilway, Mr. Maguire, Mrs. Ray, Mr. Sarver, Mr. Sisak, Mr. Stalnaker, Mr. Donovan – unanimous. Dir. of Law: Alright, by a unanimous vote; Mr. Maguire, you are now President of Council; congratulations. I will turn the meeting over to you. 5. ELECTION OF MEMBER OF COUNCIL TO SERVE AS VICE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL. Pres. of Council: Thank you Madame Law Director. The next order of business is the election of Vice President of Council. I would move that Mr. James Donovan be appointed or elected as Vice President. Seconded Mr. Sarver. Pres. of Council: Are there any other nominations? No one responded. Hearing none; Mr. Donovan is the only nominee. Let’s take a roll call vote please Mrs. Burton. Clerk of Council: Mr. Maguire, Mrs. Ray, Mr. Sarver, Mr. Sisak, Mr. Stalnaker, Mr. Donovan, Mrs. Kilway – unanimous. Voice vote 7-0. Pres. of Council: Mr. James Donovan is elected unanimously as Vice President of Council. Congratulations Jim. 6. ASSIGNMENT OF COMMITTEES. Pres. of Council: I talked with my colleagues and everybody is happy with the committees they are on. Kim Ray expressed some interest, and because of her expertise, we are going to ask that she chairs the Finance Committee. Is that OK Kim? Mrs. Ray: Yes, that’s fine. Pres. of Council: What the new assignment will be is that everybody except Kim Ray will assume the same positions they are in now as far as Chair, Vice Chair and being a member of that committee with the exception of anything that was “Bob Maguire” is now “Kim Ray.” Kim will be Chair of the Finance Committee, Vice Chair of the Planning & Zoning Committee and a member of the Public Utilities Committee. Then our new member, Mr. Craig Sisak, will assume the duties of Chairman of the Public Service Committee, which in a sense, he is stepping into Kim Ray’s positions. So, he will Chair Public Service, be Vice Chair of Finance and a member of Community Issues/Safety. Any questions? No one responded. I will entertain a motion to adjourn. 7.
