Dear Mayor O'Connell and Members of Municipal Council,
Attached is a proposal for changes to the permit fee schedule. I have also attached a chart which compares the
proposed fees to existing and gives a reason for the change.
We have gone back to computing new construction building permits by square foot area. Fees for alterations and
additions are based on cost of job. Also, we have added a maximum cap on building permits and a non-
refundable minimum fee for all permits. Every effort has been made to make the schedules more user friendly
and to keep the fees appropriate to the level of service provided for the scope of work.
