d) Morning Summer Rec.
Due to low numbers in our girls’ soccer program for morning summer
rec, we’ve decided to change it to a co-ed soccer program for both
boys and girls.
We are also looking at options to replace the original girls’ soccer
program. One idea is to offer a Youth Run Club (co-ed) on Mondays
and Wednesdays for the following groups:
3rd–4th Grade
5th–6th Grade
7th–8th Grade
Another option we’re considering is a Pickleball program (co-ed) on
Tuesdays and Thursdays for the same grade levels as the run club.
These programs can also run Early July-Mid August (6 weeks).
These ideas are still preliminary. Full program details will be ready for
the December meeting.
e) Introduction to Cribbage
Introduction to Cribbage program for middle school students during
Winter Break. The program will meet at the Tea Community Hall on:
December 22, 23, 29, 30
Time: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM each day
This program provides a fun, screen-free activity that helps build
strategy and math skills. Students will learn the basics of Cribbage,
with guides provided ahead of time and copies available during the
sessions.

- Kerr proved a document that has the Tea Parks and Recreation Year Participation numbers.
- Portner shared that a coach requested additional portable hitting stations for the baseball and softball
fields. Hauff recommended an alternative solution: providing control/weighted hitting balls, which do not
travel as far and therefore do not need to be retrieved like regular balls when used with tees. Kerr will
order these balls and include them in team bags along with the practice balls.
- Kerr reported that with the addition of the Fishin’ Derby in 2025, there are new costs associated with
the program—most notably the expense of stocking the pond, which was $1,343.01. It was
recommended to increase multisport sponsorships by $100 to help offset this cost. It was also noted
that sponsorship amounts were not increased when the youth basketball program was added, despite
sponsors’ logos being included on the t-shirts.
