Village of Tilton Board Meeting Minutes AUGUST 18, 2022 6:00 pm Mayor Phillips called the meeting to order and roll call was taken. Trustees Finley, Sheets, Washkowiak, and Wear were present. Trustee Mitchell is absent. Trustee Wear made a motion to accept the minutes of July 21, 2022, board meeting, accept the finance report and pay bills over $1,500.00. Trustee Washkowiak second. All four Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made a motion to appoint Michael Weidenburner to the vacate board trustee seat of Judie Barrett. Trustee Sheets second. All four Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Michael Weidenburner oath given. Trustee Wear made a motion to purchase new AEDs for ambulance and fire department at $6400.00. Trustee Sheets second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made a motion to purchase new radio for the new ambulance that is in production. Trustee Washkowiak second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Weidenburner made a motion to approve handicapped ramp for stage at Thomas Park of $4,252.03. Trustee Washkowiak second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made a motion for ORDINANCE 2022-0818 ESTABLISHING A POLICE AUXILIARY FOR THE VILLAGE OF TILTON. Trustee Finley second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. AUDIENCE – Amy Mackin spoke to the board and was requesting to file a complaint against a Tilton Police Officer. Mrs. Mackin was directed by Trustee Wear that a complaint would have to be submitted in writing and delivered to City Hall for Committee to review. Mrs. Mackin understood. Trustee Sheets made a motion for Curry Pay Request #10 for $68,420.33. Trustee Wear second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. BID OPENING FOR 314 BRENTWOOD --- NO BIDS WAS RECEIVED BID OPENING FOR 1523 MEITZLER—ONE BID Trustee Washkowiak made motion to accept bid of $5,000.00 from John Coons. Trustee Sheets second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made motion for ORDINANCE 2022-0818A AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 50 OF THE VILLAGE CODE PERTAINING TO ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR. Trustee Finley second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made motion for ORDINANCE 2022-0818B AN ORDINANCE TO SET THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF TILTON, ILLINOIS TO BE ELECTED AT THE NEXT MUNICIPAL ELECTION. Trustee Weidenburner second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Washkowiak made a motion to donate $1,000.00 to the Peacemaker Project 703. Trustee Sheets second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Wear made a motion for an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Muncie to provide Code Officer. Trustee Sheets second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Sheets made a motion to purchase 104 W 2nd Street on Tax Sale for $800.00. Trustee Weidenburner second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Sheets made motion to amend contract with Midwest Asphalt to include Ross Lane. Trustee Weidenburner second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried. Trustee Sheets made motion to purchase 2 Digital signs from TV Liquidator for $21,470.00. Trustee Washkowiak second. All five Trustees voted yea. Motion carried.
