MINUTES FOR THE MARCH 14, 2023 TISKILWA VILLAGE BOARD MEETING The Tiskilwa Village Board held its regular meeting on March 14, 2023 at the Tiskilwa Fire Station. Answering roll call were Mayor Michael Murray, Trustees Acker, Kline, Eiken, Yepsen, Klinefelter and Funderberg. The agenda was approved with one correction. Trustee Funderberg made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 21, 2023 rescheduled meeting with one addition, seconded by Trustee Acker. All ayes. Trustee Funderberg made a motion to approve payment of bills totaling $55,633.36, seconded by Trustee Kline. All ayes on a roll call vote. Trustee Klinefelter made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Trustee Funderberg. All ayes. Swearing in new Police Officers: Village Clerk Linda Kling swore in the two new part time Police Officers Randall Hedrick and Kyle Rokey. They will be working during the daytime on their off days. Public Participation: Ed Waca had a suggestion of a mural on the side of the Pizza place building on Main street. He also discussed an easement of his parent’s property. There were two other people to observe the meeting. Website Comments: There were five comments on the web page which Mayor Murray responded to them all. Village Supervisor Monthly Update: Rick Funderberg reported they have the patch mix in and are waiting for weather on repairing holes in the streets. He spoke with Princeton on cleaning our streets. The board was asking about the drainage on Galena street and Mayor Murray asked about moving planters near Zigs and Kellys. Mayor Murray stated he and a representative from Advanced Asphalt drove around the village discussing the streets and that patch mix is a temporary solution for the problems. Village Engineer: Village engineer Jack Kusek discussed the Galena street lift station needing repair and the easement to it. Trustee Reports: Trustee Funderberg stated the T.C.A. will be doing electrical work at the East Park. Trustee Acker stated he has a meeting with Taylor’s about the removal of a tree near the creek behind Arch street. Police Report: Showed no traffic stops, 85 security checks, and one 911 call. 35 Police hours worked. The radar data was discussed. Water Report: Trustee Klinefelter gave the water report as 682,700 gallons of water used, $7,101.08 amount of water billed and $3,893.00 amount of sewer billed. Old Business: Mayor Murray reminded the Board to complete the online training. Trustee Kline is working on the landscaping for the Dog Park. M.C. Jones will be doing the concrete work for the Dog Park and sidewalk replacement at the crosswalk on Galena St. Feral Cats: Mayor Murray stated we now have 12 volunteers in capturing feral cats to be vetted, fixed and returned. He wanted to thank Tracy Hannon for sewing the trap covers. Electronic Recycling: Just a reminder on the dates being May12-13 for Tiskilwa residents. The Bureau County event on October 21,2023. New Business: Ordinance 14-2 Sidewalks- This will be discussed more at the next meeting.
