MINUTES FOR THE OCTOBER 10, 2023 TISKILWA VILLAGE BOARD MEETING The Tiskilwa Village Board held its regular meeting on October 10, 2023 at the Tiskilwa Fire Station. Answering roll call were Mayor Michael Murray, Trustees Acker, Cole, Klinefelter and Funderberg. Trustee Klinefelter left the meeting at 7:35 P. M. The President and three remaining Trustees constituted the quorum. Trustee Kline and Yepsen were absent. The Agenda was approved as presented. There was no supervisor monthly update. There was no public at the meeting. Treasure Ginger Murphy wanted to thank Brandon Mallery and Brett Klinefelter for their help at the East Park with an electrical problem for a gathering there. Trustee Funderberg made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 12, 2023 Board Meeting, seconded by Trustee Acker. All ayes. Trustee Acker made a motion to approve payment of bills with six additions totaling $49,425.30, seconded by Trustee Cole. All ayes on a roll call vote. Trustee Klinefelter made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Trustee Funderberg. All ayes. Reports: Village Engineer Jack Kusek updated the Board on grant applications, stated the dam reports have been submitted and will report the findings at the next meeting. He stated Albrecht is to come back and check the wells at the water plant. Jack is to meet with Mayor Murray on Friday about the West Park. Trustees Reports: Trustee Klinefelter gave the water report as 738,300 gallons of water used, $7,485.50 amount of water billed and $3,885.00 amount of sewer billed. Mayor Murray gave the Police report as 115 security checks, no 911 calls and 40.5 Police hours worked. Old Business: Numash Dog Park: Mayor Murray stated he is getting different quotes on the concrete work for there and the Galena Street crosswalk. Electronic Recycling Program: The Bureau County Electronic Recycling Event will be held here in Tiskilwa on October 21, 2023. Ordinance Updates: Mayor Murray stated the Ordinance updates are being completed at our Village Attorney’s office. Village Leaf Disposal: Residents can obtain yard leaf bags free at Zig’s Station with proof of residency. The pickup days are October 16, November 6, and November 20. Have your bags on your curbside by 8:00 A. M. on the three days mentioned above. Only paper yard waste bag will be picked up. Traffic Logix- Mayor Murray stated after talking to the Elgin Police Chief, warnings only can be issued on speed enforcement cameras. Towns with a population of a million or more can issue tickets with speed enforcement cameras. New Business: Village Yard Waste Site: There was a discussion on possible using a site behind the Fire Station where the building was torn down as a Village Yard Waste site.
