Tourism Advisory Committee Special Meeting

MINUTES OF SPECIAL TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS TUESDAY, JULY 5, 2011 3:00 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Chair Holly Cook. Other Committee members present were: Mary Harvey Prakash Patel Jeffie Cappadonna Beverly Leday Rodney Hutson Ronald Tocci Kevin Lala Ken Shuman Others present: Mayor – Gretchen Fagan City Manager – George Shackelford Assistant to City Manager – Shawn Cox City Secretary – Doris Speer 2.0 No Public Comments were received. 3.0 Motion was made by Rodney Hutson, second by Mary Harvey, to approve the minutes of the Regular April 28, 2011 Tourism Advisory Committee meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 4.0 New Business: 4.1 Discussion was held to consider recommendations to City Council regarding HOT Funds Grant Request Submitted by the Spring Creek Historical Association (Tomball Museum  Minutes Special Tourism Advisory Committee July 5, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Center) in the Amount of $39,500. Motion was made by Mary Harvey, second by Ken Shuman, to recommend that Council approve the Hot Funds Grant Request by the Spring Creek Historical Association (Tomball Museum Center) in the amount of $16,975. Motion carried unanimously. 4.2 Presentations of prospective designs for a fountain at the Tomball Depot were made by The Pool Man, Aquascapes, LLC, and Tomball Pool and Spa. Additional information regarding designs with splash pads instead of wading pools, projected costs, company information, etc., was requested for the July 25, 2011 meeting. Board members will visit nearby water features and report their findings at the July 25, 2011 regular Tourism Advisory Committee meeting. No action necessary. 4.0 Motion was made by Ken Shuman, second by Beverly Leday, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned. PASSED AND APPROVED this 18th day of July 2011.
