TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
June 10, 2019
The Town Council meeting was called to order by Ron Troyer at 4:00 p.m. June 10, 2019 with the
following persons present:

Minutes
Pete moved that the minutes for the last council meeting be approved. Ray seconded the
motion and it carried unanimously.
Clerk-Treasurer
The board approved the claims as read. Pete made the motion, Ray seconded the motion
and it carried unanimously.
A request for a sewer credit at 302 E. Lake Street due to a pool fill. Credit request is for
5000 gallons. Pete made the motion to approve the credit, Ray seconded the motion and
it carried unanimously.
Town Manager
A Town Parking Ordinance, 2019-6-10 was presented to the Council. Pete made the
motion to approve said ordinance and forego the second reading, Jeff seconded the
motion and it carried unanimously.
The Town Manager presented the ND Program Annual Report for 2018. This report was
sent to IDEM.
Stewart requested approval from the Council to begin looking for a Sewer Operator and
asked for approval to advertise on FB, Alliance Website and other "no cost'' social media
sites. Ray made the motion to move forward with the search and limit the advertisements
to the "no cost'' areas. Pete seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
A discussion was had on Community Crossings project. Further discussion will take
place at the next Council meeting on June 24, 2019.
Police
Ed Flowers will attend BCI Defense Armorer School instead of the Glock Armorer Course
for Rifle training due to cost savings.
The Marshal presented April Reports and gave an update on PD incidents around Topeka
and the department.
General
Bill Bradley from Lagrange County EDC and Greg Todd from Farmer's State Bank
proposed hiring HPG to provide guidance for ongoing housing activity in LaGrange
County. Ray made a motion for a Positive Recommendation to the Topeka
Redevelopment Commission. Pete seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
Town Attorney
Codification will be discussed and reviewed at'next Council Meeting on June 24, 2019.
Next Meeting
The next Town Council meeting will be held at Topeka Town Hall on June 24, 2019 at
4:00 p.m. There being no other business to be brought before the Board the meeting was
adjourned at 5:03 pm.
