Approved by the Board of Public Safety MINUTES Vol. 7, Page 589 August 2, 2023 BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY Vote: Unanimous SPECIAL MEETING CITY HALL AUDITORIUM / ZOOM July 24, 2023 A SPECIAL MEETING of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, July 24, 2023. Attendance was in-person and by Zoom. Present at City Hall were Mayor Elinor Carbone, Fire Chief Eric Borden, Deputy Fire Chief David Tripp, and Board of Safety Commissioners Glenn McLeod, Gregg Cogswell, Doug Benedetto, Joe McElroy, and Molly Spino. Commissioner Darlene Battle was absent. No one joined via Zoom. Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m., beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance. FIRE DEPARTMENT LIEUTENANTS On a motion by Commissioner McLeod, seconded by Commissioner Benedetto, the Board voted unanimously to accept Chief Borden’s recommendation to promote Jeremy Minard to the position of Lieutenant in the Torrington Fire Department. On a motion by Commissioner Benedetto, seconded by Commissioner McLeod, the Board voted unanimously to accept Chief Borden’s recommendation to promote Daniel Matthews to the position of Lieutenant in the Torrington Fire Department.
