IV. Motion to Approve the Agenda Mayor Cameron requested a motion on this item. A motion was made by Councilmember Hankins, seconded by Councilmember Gales, this be approved. City Manager said the charges will be sent to Montgomery County Tax Department to be placed on the properties tax duplicate for delinquent water, sewer, trash and stormwater drainage bills in arrarages due to non-payment. There is an overall average reduction from last year to this year averaging 17%. Mayor Cameron requested a motion to approve Resolution 14-76. City Manager explained this service is now done in house with no complaint's to-date. We are billing the property owners after a written notice is recevied and not in compliance to cut the weeks & grass. In most cases these are vacant and bank owned properties. City Manager said we are required by Montgomery County to enter into an Urban County Cooperation Agreement for CDGB and Home Program Funding as designated by HUD. Old & New Business City of Trotwood Page 5 City Council Meeting Minutes September 2, 2014 a. Mayor Mayor Cameron announced there will be a 9-11 Memorial Service held in front of the government center starting at 11:00 p.m. A plaque was presented to City Council from the YMCA and United Theological Seminary by YMCA Director Gale Horton thanking the city for helping with the triathlon held on the UTS grounds this past weekend. Ninety children of all ages were present in this competition. In the month of September Mayor, City Council and city staff members will be out walking in the Ward 3 neighborhood - date to be announced. The CHAMPS summer program is finished. Reports indicate the number of children fed was trippled. b. City Manager - Reminder to visit Trotwood's website at www.trotwood.org for updated inforamtion and events in our city. Lowe's has celebrated it's 20th year anniversary here in the city of Trotwood. The new manager said this store is alive and doing very well in sales and is not closing. c. Council Members: 1) Ward Updates 2) Announcements Councilmember McDonald said the ice cream social at her home was well received. This was sponsored by the Trotwood Transformation Committee for neighbors to get acquanted and to help each other in times of need. Councilmember Hankins - Reported childhood obesity is a nation wide issue which is one reason why the CHAMPS program is so important. City Council and staff are invited to attend a Dayton First Suburbs Consortium SPECIAL EVENT starting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 24th. Dr. David Sander, Councilmember of Rancho Cordova, CA, past National League of Cities (NLC) First Tier Suburbs Council Chair and current member of NLC's Board of Directors, will be speaking to engage in a dialogue and discuss First Suburb issues and how we can best work to address them. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. located at the old NCR corporation headquarters. The public is invited to attend 'Trotwood Night" with the Dayton Philharmonic Pops concert on October 10 & 11th, downtown at the Schuster Center, 100 tickets will go on sale at the government center. Councilmember Kettle - The public is invited to attend on September 19 the annual Trotwood Chamber Golf Outing at Meadowbrook County Club. Save the date on October 11th for the annual Trotwood Historical Society Harvest Fest. This month the city of Trotwood celebrated it's 113th birthday being incorporated in 1901. d.
