Kat Talley-Jones made a motion to approve the minutes and Kate Short seconded. 4-0 approved. PUBLIC COMMENTS-NONE 1.City Report Director Keith Gardner gives an update on the Tourism Business Improvement District. The TBID will continue to give a place for the arts. BUSINESS 2. FY 2023/2024 Budget Update Stacy Solie gives a presentation about the new 23/24 budget update. No other expenses towards the budget were paid. Solie states a breakdown of how the money has been spent; it is important to try to use the grant money to cover the cost. The PAAC hasn't spent money from the City allocation and talks about when the mentorship program will start. 3. Confirmation of hire for Workshop 29 Ecologist for Dance workshop Laura Rozzell has been hired for Workshop 29 Ecologist for Dance workshop 29. She is informed that she has been picked and Ryan Heffington is excited and pleased to start working with her. Kat motioned and Kate seconded. 4-0 approved. 4. Confirmation of nine Workshop 29 mentees The mentees that have been selected are as follows: Dance and Ecology: Graham Kolbeins, Christie Walton, Benjamin Vital Storytelling: Jonathan Andre Culliton and Katherine Roberts Voter Activism: Brianna Dandurand and Carly Foulkes Emotional Transformation: Brandon Bolds and Quisha Henderson Videographer: Kimberly Murray The alternates: Sophia Sanchez, Janelle Angeles, and Kristen Jean Wheatley Talley-Jones motioned and Ryan Heffington seconded. 4-0 approved. Sculpture update on bids for repair Solie states that there are bids on the 29! sculpture. Robert Daugherty gives a presentation on what would be best to restore the 29! sculpture. There were talks about moving the sculpture; if it were moved the painting and repair would need to be fixed before the move. 6. Workshop 29 Committee updates: General Planning Update: PR, Dance Workshop September 27 Planning Meeting: The PAAC has the mentees and is working on the orientation; this will not be open to the public. Welcome Packet: The welcome packet is in the process of being made, it will need to be edited. Hiring of mentees: Promotional material for hiring mentees and Ryan's dance workshop will need to be done. Windows on Highway 62 for artist promotion: This project will not continue. 7. Long-term Planning update Talley-Jones states that the PAAC did not receive the California Arts grant. She is hopeful and positive about applying for grants in the future. Waiting to hear back from the Arts and Cultural Barriers grant. Money has been set aside to hire a grant writer. 8. Review of potential grants No grants are pending now. 10. Update on member recruitment The advertisement has been sent out in the paper; it will be added onto platforms as well. There needs to be edits to the PAAC webpage on the City site. A job description will need to be made for the position. 11. Visitor Center Gallery Report The PAAC discusses the Weed show that will be happening October 6th. Around January - March there will be a Groundworks Childrens Art show and April-June will be another Workshop 29. 12. PAAC Calendar update Information is still being transferred from Basecamp onto the Google Calendar for Workshop 29. More information will be provided to Director Gardner. 13. Report on City Council tours of Grantees spaces This item has been tabled. 14. Update on rebranding of PAAC logo and social media The discussion of past social media posts has been archived. LeeAnn suggested reaching out to the high school and Copper Mountain Community College about getting Spanish translations for their posts. 15. PAAC page on City Website Short discussed changes were made to the PAAC page on the City website. Hopefully wanting to update the page soon with events. 16. Basecamp The PAAC discussed moving from Basecamp to Asania.
