City of Tybee Island Tybee Island Marine Science Center ad hoc Committee Minutes 10-18-19 In attendance: Shawn Gillen, George Shaw, Wanda Doyle, Matt Schivera, Bubba Hughes, Craig Clements, Tom Olson, Alice Jonsson Shawn Gillen called the meeting to order at 11:10. Shawn Gillen made a motion to approve minutes. Motion approved with change of wording: “mostly” removed. George Shaw seconded. Motion approved. Matt S. went over the updated master schedule to include hurricane delay. The storefront installations are going in. The deck brackets are going in. MEP inspections coming up. Glass will be installed soon, then insulation and finishes. No outstanding submittals or RFIs. Tom Olson went over electrical plan and shared some updates to the site plan. Group discussed electrical panel. Change orders: Matt S. explained there is a scupper change order pending and the electrical panel the group discussed. Matt S.: CBM would like to reduce their retainage to 5%. Shawn Gillen said he would follow up with him on that issue. Craig Clements spoke about the C7 coordination. Schematic exhibit design is supposed to be wrapped up by the end of this month. Some exhibits are already being fabricated. Two or three tanks need to be accommodated in the flooring. Wanda Doyle spoke about the crossover and wants to have it done with the higher-priced decking. The crossover might be sub-contracted. Shawn Gillen will follow-up with Alan on the project timing. Maria P. will be meeting with Deb B. from DNR about the outdoor play exhibits. Maria is optimistic about the DNR response. Next meeting will be Nov. 15th at 11:00 AM. Shawn Gillen made a motion to adjourn. Wanda Doyle seconded. Meeting adjourned at 11:30.
