Marine Science Center AD HOC Committee Final Meeting Notes City of Tybee Island 4-12-2019 Attendees: Shawn Gillen, Wanda Doyle, Matt Lieb, Matthew Schivera, Chad Z., Bubba Hughes, George Shaw, Barry Brown, Karen Robertson (Marine Sci Center Board), Matt West, Craig Clements Shawn Gillen called meeting to order at 10:30 AM. Matt Lieb gave construction update. All is on-schedule. Matt Schivera reported that GMP2 pricing permits and docs are 95% complete. Next GMP2 needs to be approved in next week or so. Shawn Gillen shared at 3:30 PM, Wed. 4-17-19, there will be a public budget hearing. There will be a vote to approve GMP2 then. At City Hall Auditorium. George Shaw said all permitting is on-track. Karen Robertson from Marine Science Center Board is volunteering to help with PR and will meet after Council Meeting with Wanda Doyle and Shawn Gillen. Bubba Hughes shared how bond can be amended. Thinks we are good to go. Committee discussed who will design exhibits piece of walkway. West Construction would build and Craig will meet with Maria to go over designs. Shawn Gillen shared that traffic barricades will guide cars through one-way loop around North parking lot for safety for all visitors. Will use barrier near middle crossover for pedestrian safety. Closed off center turnaround point. New parking has been added and will be ready within a week or so. Bubba Hughes asked if Highway 80 construction will negatively impact construction. Shawn Gillen reported that Tybee has arranged to escort concrete trucks to avoid delays. Meeting adjourned at 10:50 AM. Next meeting will be on April 26th, 2019, at 10:30 AM, at Public Safety Building.
