5-13 Public Safety Committee - Special Meeting

City of Tybee Island Public Safety Committee Special Meeting – May 13th, 2021 Draft Minutes In Attendance: Shawn Gillen, Alice Jonsson, Matt Harrell, Joel Fobes, John Branigin, Monty Parks. Shawn Gillen called the meeting to order at 1:00. John Branigin made a motion to approve the Draft Minutes from 4-22-21. Peter Gulbronson seconded. Motion passed. 14th St. Lot Traffic Controls: Shawn Gillen – can’t completely block it. Make 14th St. entrance only during the busy Saturdays. 15th St. exit and enter at that point. 14th Lane – we are probably blocking it off to control access. All emergency vehicles can get through. On Butler we would block the left turn into the 15th St. entrance to the lot. Residents will be able to enter all day long. John Branigin likes the idea of closing off 14th Lane. This is all temporary for Memorial Day. The goal is to make sure emergency vehicles can reach all residents. Peter Gulbronson- We have 17th and Butler as temporary stop. The group discussed myriad possibilities. Making it a permanent stop will be on the next Council agenda. Next meeting – Golf carts- Alley 3- TIPD, TIFD, June Council Agenda - Four-way permanent stop at 17th and Butler. 1:17 John Branigin made a motion to adjourn. Peter Gulbronson seconded. Motion passed.
