City of Tybee Island TIMSC AD HOC Committee Meeting June 21st, 2019 Final Minutes In Attendance: Shawn Gillen, George Shaw, Wanda Doyle, Barry Brown, Tom Olson, Craig Clements, Matt Lieb, Matt Schivera. Karen Robertson, Alice Jonsson, Bubba Hughes. Shawn called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM. Master Schedule – Matt Lieb gave two-week look ahead – 90% done with concrete work, deck footers are done, and footings for the ramp are being done. Cistern is going up. Framing started. Timbers are going vertical. Trusses are there. Gave more details about trusses, deck framing, and windows. Matt S. – on the 3rd at noon through Friday the 5th they will not be building. Change in East Gallery roof structure. Have final design and cost today. Explained changes. Material, labor, and equipment costs are higher. There may be some savings in concrete or other areas to compensate. Went over those numbers with the group. Group will let Council know about any changes. MS will send ‘zero-change’ doc to Shawn who will then share with Council. MS - Lost a few days from rain, but overall doing great with schedule. Will send out a revised schedule. Framing is a little behind, but we have been lucky with weather. ML – GA Power will be out soon, hopefully, so they can complete underground work. Outstanding Submittals- MS all are tracking fine. #40-45 Storefront – Craig said the samples are good and they have a selection. Group discussed metal to be used in environment and how to care for them. Perhaps a maintenance manual could be put together at the end of the project. Wanda liked that idea. #31 Roofing Materials Color Selections – Craig and ML talked about grey instead of white. Pay Applications – May is outstanding but not yet due. Action Items – Deck Options – WCC locating additional options. MS spoke about deck material Garapa. Exhibit Design – Craig spoke about the trip to Tampa where he looked at exhibit design. Grant from IKEA came through for $65,000, roughly, for furnishings. Karen and Wanda discussed creating a Powerpoint for August to share with Council. Wanda asked about when exhibit design will be final. Craig said they will know by March and there will be a phase-in with exhibits. Wanda requests a potential sneak-peak. Craig said Council will know what they are getting prior to be completed. Group discussed ‘turtle glass’ and pavers. Craig - nothing new on dune walk or pavilion. Upcoming Vacations/Out of Offices: MS – 6/28-7/5 Next meeting will be 7/19/19 at 11 AM. Shawn Gillen will be out with a family matter on that date so Wanda Doyle agreed to Chair on that day. Barry made a motion to close the meeting. Wanda second. Motion approved. Meeting adjourned at 11:34 AM.
