1 LIQUOR LICENSE PUBLIC HEARINGS:
2 1. Chrisam Corporation
3 0910-33-007-011
4 (Anthony J. Bianciella, Esq.)
5
6 MS. ROSARIO: Now, we have liquor
7 license hearing.
8 MR. GONZALEZ: Good evening,
9 Commissioners. For the record my name is Raymond
10 Gonzalez, G-O-N-Z-A-L-E-Z, acting ABC attorney for
11 the City of Union City.
12 Today, there's only one application and
13 that's a renewal of Chrisam Corporation, it is a
14 matter that went before the State of New Jersey,
15 Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of
16 Alcoholic Beverage. There was a hearing that was
17 had, the Commissioner -- the director actually
18 approved the allowing the renewal of the license
19 from 2017 to 2018, 2018 to '19, 19-20, 20-21,
20 21-22, and '22 to '23, of which was done. We have
21 confirmation that it was all complete.
22 The reason this took so long was that
23 the petitioner, the license holder, which is a
24 pocket license, it's not an active bar, made his
25 application to the City. For some reason, the
12
1 money got lost, they couldn't do it, then they
2 implemented the new registration, which was
3 online, and they couldn't do it because they
4 didn't have it from the old one. It took a very
5 long time. There was an actual denial, there was
6 a reconsideration. That reconsideration was
7 supported with all the documents. The director
8 said that it should be allowed and that's what we
9 have here today.
10 It was subject to the filing of
11 2022-2023, which I have confirmation from our
12 sergeant who's in charge of the record room that,
13 in fact, it was done; is that correct?
14 SERGEANT ZERON: Yes.
15 MR. GONZALEZ: I did prepare a
16 resolution with a little more detail setting forth
17 the reason why it's taking so long and exactly
18 what's being done.
19 MAYOR STACK: Is there anyone here to
20 comment on this application?
21 MS. ROSARIO: Can I have a motion to
22 approve, Mayor?
23 MAYOR STACK: I'm going to put up the
24 motion now.
25 First of all, congratulations on your
13
1 first meeting, Ray, I'm glad you're here.
2 I'll make the motion to approve.
3 MS. ROSARIO: Motion by Mayor Stack.
