January 28, 2020 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING URBANA ARTS AND CULTURE COMMISSION APPROVED DATE: January 28, 2020 TIME: 4:30 P.M PLACE: Analog, 129 N Race St, Urbana, Illinois 61801 MEMBERS PRESENT: Barbara Hedlund, Luis Gonzalo Pinilla, Patricia Sammann, Courtney Becks, Frank Modica MEMBERS ABSENT: Jared Miller, Angela Williams MEMBERS EXCUSED: Jenelle Orcherton STAFF PRESENT: Brandon Boys, Economic Development Manager; Rachel Storm, Arts & Culture Coordinator; HeatherAnn Hicks-Layman, Program Specialist; Stepheny McMahon, Economic Development Coordinator OTHERS PRESENT: 1. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM The Urbana Arts and Culture Commission was called to order at 4:40pm by Ms. Sammann, Ms. Hedlund seconded. Ms. Hicks-Layman took roll and a quorum was declared present. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Ms. Sammann made a motion to approve minutes from December 11, 2019 and January 21, 2020. Ms. Hedlund seconded. All were in favor and minutes approved 3. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA There were none. 4. PUBLIC INPUT There was none.  January 28, 2020 5. PRESENTATIONS • Strategic Visioning – Rachel L Storm, Arts and Culture Coordinator Ms. Storm presented a worksheet to the commissioners, engaging them in conversation regarding evaluation and strategic visioning for the Arts and Culture Program. The worksheet included analysis of the impact of current programs, as well as suggestions for future directions for arts and cultural programming in Urbana. 6. NEW BUSINESS There was none. 7. ANNOUNCEMENTS There were none. 8. ADJOURNMENT Ms. Sammann moved that the meeting be adjourned. With no further business and no objection, Ms. Sammann declared the meeting adjourned at 6:07pm.
