FINANCE COMMITTEE
September 11, 2017
The meeting was called to order by Alder William “Mac” McGilvray at 6:31 p.m. in Conference
Room D110.
Roll Call: Alder William “Mac” McGilvray, Alder Jack Linder, and Alder Elizabeth Doyle were
present.
Also present: Mayor Jon Hochkammer, City Administrator Jeff Mikorski, Finance Director
Brian Lamers.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of August 7, 2017; August 17, 2017; August
28, 2017; and August 29, 2017 Finance Committee minutes: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by
Linder, to approve the August 7, 2017; August 17, 2017; August 28, 2017; and August 29, 2017
Finance Committee minutes with no amendments. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills:
Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to approve the payment of bills totaling $5,300,533.15.
Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding Review of Miscellaneous Receivable Balances.
Finance Director Brian Lamers discussed the outstanding receivables list with the Finance
Committee. After reviewing the list, Finance Committee requested additional information on
each of the oldest outstanding receivables before any action could be taken on the matter. Staff
will provide additional information at an upcoming Finance Committee meeting. No action
taken.
Discussion re: 2018 Budget Updates.
Brian Lamers and Jeff Mikorski provided an update on the Health Insurance rates for employees
for 2018. The rates have not been provided by ETF, so the proposed budget figures have not
been revised yet for Finance Department review. Finance Committee reviewed potential Cost-
Of-Living-Adjustment values for non-protected employees as a part of preparing the 2018
Proposed Budget. No action taken.
Adjournment: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Doyle, to adjourn the Finance Committee
Meeting at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
