City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE OCTOBER 28, 2019 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room D110 Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alder Kate Cronin and Alder Christine Posey were present Also present: City Administrator Adam Sayre and Finance Director Brian Lamers Public Comment: None Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of October 14, 2019 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Cronin to approve the October 14, 2019 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action approving Resolution R-19-044 Approving the 2020 Fitch-Rona EMS Operating and Capital Budgets: There was no discussion or questions. Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey to approve and recommend to the City Council Resolution R-19- 044 approving the 2020 Fitch-Rona EMS Operating and Capital Budgets. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Updates on the 2020 Budget: Lamers stated there were no updates on the budget and the final assessment has not been received from the Department of Revenue to determine the mill rate before the TID’s. Lamers stated the City has not received any of the other taxing entities levy amounts to determine the mill rate for the TID’s. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Possible Reimbursement of the TID error in 2018: Sayre explained to the Committee that the bill passed the Assembly Committee and possibly will be on the Assembly floor for approval in the beginning of November. If that does happen then it would go to the Governor for his signature. Sayre stated if all this happens we could have it could possibly be in the middle of November. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Cronin to approve the payment of bills totaling $743,469.16.
