He stated we still do not have the final assessment numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (WDOR) to tell what the City’s mill rate, which we usually have by now but after contacting the WDOR they stated there was a manufacturing assessment being appealed. Lamers stated we also do not have Dane County’s levy to determine the TIF tax portion. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Possible Reimbursement of the TID error in 2018: Sayre stated that SB269 passed last Thursday and is waiting for the Governor’s signature. Sayre informed the Committee that the Dane County tax system was unable to do negative assessment so there are two other options of either cutting the checks or reducing the levy. Administration has been trying to get approval from the WDOR on either reducing the levy or issuing checks directly to the taxpayers and they have not given us any answers. After further discussion on pros and cons of the two options the Committee recommended that checks be issued for the refund of anything over $10.00, however if someone comes in that request there refund that is under $10.00 that the City issue them a check.
