City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE JUNE 13, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 6:30 p.m. Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alder Mara Helmke and Alder Christine Posey were present. Also present: Finance Director Brian Lamers Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of May 23, 2022, Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to approve the May 23, 2022, Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion regarding the 2021 Financial Report and Presentation from the Auditors: Lamers stated that they would be presenting at the Common Council meeting. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the Revenue and Expenditure Summary Report-May 2022: Lamers stated again there is concern about interest revenue. Also concerned about inflation and prices and budget overages. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report-May 2022: Lamers stated there isn’t much to discuss. Interest revenue still is a concern. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Posey questioned the purchase of radios for the Fire Department for $37,400. After further discussion on replacement of radios it was determined that it will be monitored during the budget process on the purchasing of radios for need and cost. Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Helmke to approve the payment of bills totaling $1,034,645.05. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:42 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
