CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PERSONNEL COMMITTEE DECEMBER 9, 2013 VERONA CITY HALL 1. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Doyle at 5:05 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Mike Bare, Elizabeth Doyle, Dale Yurs. Also present: Jon Hochkammer, Mayor; Bill Burns, City Administrator; Cindy Engelke, Finance Director. 3. Approval of Minutes from the November 25, 2013 Personnel Committee Meeting: Motion by Bare, seconded by Yurs, to approve the minutes from the November 25, 2013 Personnel Committee meeting. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Position Description and Recruitment for the Accounting Assistant Position Mr. Burns reported that the Accounting Assistant, Pam Schafer, has given her resignation and her last day will be December 13. Staff have reviewed the position description and are recommending modifications to reflect current duties and to include a two-year degree in accounting or a related field as a desired qualification. Staff have also prepared a draft job ad and tentative recruitment timeline. The consensus of the committee was that staff should finalize the changes to the position description and proceed with the recruitment. 5. Performance Evaluation of the City Administrator: Motion by Bare, seconded by Yurs, to convene in closed session as authorized by Section 19.85 (1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of discussing personnel matters – performance evaluation. Voting Aye: Bare, Doyle, Yurs. Voting No: None. The Committee returned to open session and no action was taken on the closed session item. 6.
