CITY OF VERONA MINUTES POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION SEPTEMBER 28, 2013 VERONA CITY HALL (DRAFT – UNAPPROVED) 1. The meeting was called to order by Delora Newton at 8:01 a.m. 2. Roll Call: Delora Newton, Joleen Semmann, Paul Curtis. Absent (excused): Richard Jensen, Steve Heinzen. Also Present: Joe Giver, Fire Chief. 3. Approval of Minutes of the September 18, 2013 Police and Fire Commission Meeting. No action was taken. 4. Consideration of moving into closed session pursuant to sec. 19.85(1)(c) and (e) Stats., for the purpose of conducting job interviews for the Deputy Fire Chief position: Motion by Newton, second by Semmann, to go into closed session pursuant to Sec. 19.85 (1)(c) Wis. Stats. at 8:05 a.m. to conduct Deputy Fire Chief interviews. Voting Aye: Newton, Semmann, Curtis. Voting No: None. 5. The Commission may return to open session and may take action on the previous closed session item: Motion by Newton, seconded by Semmann to go into open session at 5:00 p.m. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Newton, second by Semmann, to certify candidates DC 1, DC 2, DC 3, DC 6, DC 7, DC 8, and DC 9. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Adjournment: Motion by Semmann, second by Curtis, to adjourn at 5:02 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
