POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION
MARCH 9, 2015
VERONA CITY HALL
1. The meeting was called to order by Delora Newton at 6:03 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Delora Newton, Richard Jensen, Joleen Semmann, Steve Heinzen. Also
Present: Joe Giver, Fire Chief.
3. Motion by Newton, second by Jensen, to defer approval of Minutes of the January 28,
2015 Police and Fire Commission Meeting. Unanimous – motion carried 4-0.
4. Closed Session: Motion by Newton, second by Semmann, to go into closed session at
6:04 p.m. for purpose of reviewing candidates for Fire Department Deputy Chief position
that the Police and Fire Commission will interview for possible certification to Chief
Giver. Roll Call: Delora Newton, Richard Jensen, Joleen Semmann, Steve Heinzen.
Unanimous – motion carried 4-0.
5. Motion to come out of closed session at 6:48 p.m. by Heinzen, second by Jensen.
Unanimous – motion carried 4-0.
6. Motion to Adjourn: Motion by Semmann, second by Jensen. Unanimous - motion carried
4-0.
7. Adjournment at 6:48 p.m.

determining which applicants to interview and to develop interview questions.
5. The Commission may return to open session to take action on any previous item
on the agenda.
