MINUTES
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Yurs at 5:32
p.m.
2. Roll Call: Members Present: Heather Reekie, Evan Touchett and Dale Yurs.
Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; and Kami Scofield, City Clerk.
3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie to approve
the minutes from the January 26, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 3/0.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Class “B” Beer
and “Class B” Liquor License from Tina Watson‐Bircher, Agent for MT Treads
located at 407 W Verona Avenue. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett to
recommend that the Common Council approve the Class “B” Beer and “Class
B” Liquor License for MT Treads. Motion carried 3/0.
5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Class “B” Beer
and Reserve “Class B” Liquor License from Philipp Hoechst, Agent for Hop
Haus Brewing Company located at 231 S Main Street. Motion by Reekie,
seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of the Reserve Class “B” Beer and
“Class B” Liquor License for Hop Haus Brewing Company with the contingency
that Chief Coughlin completes the records check. Motion carried 2/0 with Ald.
Touchett abstaining.
6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a “Class A” Liquor
License from Naomi Olayo, Agent for Kwik Trip #456 located at 2145 CTH PB.
Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett to recommend that the Council
approve the “Class A” Liquor License for Kwik Trip #456. Motion carried 3/0.
7. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event
Permit for Hometown Days, June 4‐7, 2015 from Karl Curtis, of the Verona
Area Chamber of Commerce. Karl Curtis noted the following changes in this
year’s event: there will be no fireworks on Thursday and possibly no alcohol on
Thursday if they go forward with the ‘Battle of the Bands’ idea, the fireworks
will instead be on Friday evening, and the event is happening one week earlier
than usual. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett to recommend that the
Council approve the Special Event Permit for Hometown Days June 4‐7, 2015
contingent upon Chief Coughlin completing the records check. Motion carried
3/0.
8. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Mud Run on
May 30, 2015 from Samuel Scaletta of Race Day Events, LLC. Motion by
Touchett, seconded by Reekie to approve the Special Event Permit for a Mud
Run on May 30th. Motion carried 3/0.
9. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary
Class “B” Beer License for a Mud Run on May 30, 2015 from Mike O’Brien of
Ice Inc. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett to recommend approval to
the Common Council of the Temporary Class “B” Beer license contingent upon
Chief Coughlin completing the records check.

10. Adjournment. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie to adjourn the
meeting at 5:54 p.m. Motion carried 3/0.
