Approval of the minutes of the March 1, 2022, Police and Fire Commission Meeting. 4. Discussion and possible action to accept the retirement of Police Chief Coughlin, effective September 5, 2022. 5. Chief Coughlin’s announcement of the resignation of Lieutenant Christensen, effective August 12, 2022. 6. Chief Coughlin’s announcement of the promotion of Sergeant Fehrmann to the rank of Lieutenant. 7. Adjourn to closed session pursuant to WI State Statute 19.85 (1) (c) and (e) for the following purposes: a. Discussing internal candidates or a candidate to serve as interim chief of police effective September 6, 2022, or a date sooner if Chief Coughlin vacates the office of Chief of Police before that date; b. Discussing strategic considerations of the Commission involving the selection process for determining the next chief of police and information related to specific Department personnel related to the selection process; and c. Discussing strategic considerations of the Commission involving the selection process for sergeant of police and information related to specific Department personnel related to the selection process. 8. Return to open session. 9. Discuss and take action regarding the appointment of an Interim Chief of Police, effective September 6, 2022, or a date sooner if Chief Coughlin vacates the office of Chief of Police before that date. 10. Discuss and take action regarding the selection process to use for purposes of identifying and selecting the City of Verona’s next Chief of Police. 11.
