CITY OF VERONA POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2023, AT 5:30 PM VERONA FIRE DEPARTMENT 101 LINCOLN STREET MINUTES 1. Call to Order by Louis Eifert at 5:31 pm. 2. Roll Call: Louis Eifert, Cole Leystra, Melissa Helgesen and Mylinda Heil. Also present: Verona Fire Chief Dan Machotka 3. Approval of Minutes: Moved by Leystra, seconded by Helgesen to approve the February 28, 2023, minutes of the Verona Police and Fire Commission. Motion Carried: 4-0. 4. Moved by Eifert, seconded by Helgesen to convene into closed session pursuant to Sec. 19.85(1) (c) and (e), WI State Statue, for the following purposes: a. To select Battalion Chief of Inspection and Prevention candidates for commission Interviews for the Verona Fire Department. Motion Carried: 4-0. Fire Chief Dan Machotka was invited to remain in closed session. Time: 5:33 p.m. 5. Moved by Heil, seconded by Eifert to return to open session for discussion and possible action regarding the closed session. Motion Carried: 4-0. Time: 5:36 p.m. Moved by Eifert, seconded by Heil to move 5 candidates with highest adjusted scores including person IDs 18573719, 35452455, 10919041, 18340434, 22703552 to continue forward with recruitment process for Battalion Chief of Inspection and Prevention.
