MINUTES
1. Call to Order by Louis Eifert at 5:34 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Louis Eifert, Cole Leystra, and Melissa Helgesen. Mylinda Heil arrived at 5:36 p.m.
Police Chief David Dresser was also present.
3. Approval of Minutes: Moved by Helgesen, seconded by Eifert to approve the May 25, 2023, minutes of
the Verona Police and Fire Commission.
Motion Carried: 3-0.
4. Moved by Leystra, seconded Helgesen to close the existing recruitment process and to open a new
process for the position of police officer.
Motion Carried: 4-0.
5. Moved by Leystra, seconded by Eifert to begin using the Personnel Evaluation Profile (PEP) as a
screening tool for candidates.
Motion Carried: 4-0.
6. Adjournment: Moved by Eifert, seconded by Heil to adjourn at 5:57 p.m.
Motion Carried: 4-0.
