CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE AUGUST 24, 2015 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Dale Yurs at 5:33 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Dale Yurs and Heather Reekie Evan Touchett was absent and excused. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief and Kami Scofield, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Yurs to approve the minutes from the July 27, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding Hearing for Heather Oleston Regarding Chief’s Recommended Denial of Operator’s License. Ms. Oleston did not appear for her hearing. Motion by Reekie seconded Yurs to follow the recommendation of the Chief and recommend denial of the operator license to the Common Council. Motion carried 2/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an Application for a Liquor License Premise Amendment for MT Treads located at 407 West Verona Avenue. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Reekie to recommend approval of the liquor license premise amendment to include an outdoor patio. Motion carried 2/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an Application for a Class A Liquor and Class A Fermented Malt Beverage License for Schultz Vending, LLC located at 535 Half Mile Road, Christopher Schultz, Agent. Motion by Yurs seconded by Reekie to recommend approval of the Class A Fermented Malt Beverage and Class A Liquor license to the Common Council. Motion Carried 2/0. 7. Discussion and possible action regarding an Application for a Special Event for Ironman Wisconsin from Ryan Richards, World Triathlon Corporation. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Reekie to recommend approval of the Special Event for Ironman. Motion carried 2/0. 8. Adjournment.
