CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE APRIL 10, 2017 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Stewart at 6:18 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Scott Stewart, Heather Reekie and Evan Touchett present. Also in attendance: Sergeant Jesse Christensen, Joff Pedretti, Patrick Guminey and City Clerk Ellen Clark. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie, to approve the minutes of the March 13, 2017 Public Safety and Welfare meeting. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: A Special Event Permit Application from Joff Pedretti for the Verona Area High School Boys Track & Field Community Fun Run on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie, to approve a Special Event Permit from Joff Pedretti for the Verona Area High School Boys Track & Field Community Fun Run on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Sergeant Christensen stated this is the first community fun run organized by this organization. The course is essentially the same as our Hometown Days Fun Run. This is a fundraiser for the track & field team, and serves as a community service project for the team members. There will be no need for police involvement for this event. The public announcement system will be used for the race, but there are no noise concerns for the neighborhood. Sergeant Christensen has no concerns in approving this event. Motion carried 3-0. 5.
