CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE JANUARY 22, 2018 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to order: Heather Reekie called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Sarah Gaskell and Heather Reekie were present. Evan Touchett was absent and excused. Also present: Police Chief Bernie Coughlin and City Clerk Ellen Clark. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Reekie, seconded by Gaskell, to approve the minutes from the January 8, 2018 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting. Motion carried 2-0. 6:06 p.m. – Evan Touchett now present. 3. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance No. 18-908 amending Section 10-1-41 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Verona, Wisconsin relating to pedestrian regulations. Chief Coughlin stated that he reworked the language in Section 1.(c)(1) Purpose; deleted the definition of pedestrian under Section 1.(c)(2); and amended Section 1.(c)(7) Covered Highways to include all streets in the city, whether or not there is a median. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Gaskell to recommend to the Common Council to approve Ordinance No. 18-908 amending Section 10-1-41 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Verona, Wisconsin. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Adjournment: Motion by Reekie, seconded by Gaskell, to adjourn at 6:08 p.m. Motion carried 3-0. Ellen Clark, City Clerk
