Call to order: Phil Hoechst called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Phil Hoechst and Evan Touchett were present. Rye Kimmett was absent and excused. Also present: Police Chief Dave Dresser, City Clerk Holly Licht and City Engineer Tyler Tkachuk. 3. Public Comments: • Rich Streich, 824 Enterprise Dr., stated that people will not stop at the proposed stop sign. He said there would be constant traffic backed up to driveways. He suggested speed bumps, traffic islands and other traffic calming devices. • Annie Vamer, 618 Enterprise Dr., stated that Enterprise is not a safe street and people speed. She stated if there is no stop sign, the city should paint over the crosswalk because it gives a false sense of security. • Jane Ames, 520 Enterprise, stated that she is in support of a stop and open to other options to make the street safer. She suggested flashing signs or speed bumps. She stated it is hard to get out of the condo driveways. She stated 25 people signed the letter to City to support the addition of the stop sign. • Laura Cook, 508 Enterprise Dr., stated that traffic on Enterprise Dr. has increased and speeded up. She stated that if we don’t install a stop sign, there needs to be speed bumps. • Jeff Gaby, 803 Enterprise Dr., stated that right now he thinks the traffic problem is exasperated by the construction on 18/151. He stated that a stop sign would back up traffic and make it difficult for people to leave their driveways. There would also be noise pollution from constant starting and stopping. He suggested a median. He stated flashing light for a pedestrian crossing would work. • Tammy Kundinger, 711 Enterprise Dr., stated she lives 91 inches from the proposed stop sign. She strongly opposes the stop sign. She stated that the stop sign would make it almost impossible to enter and exit her driveway. She agreed that there are other options to make the street safer. • Jeff Ylvisaker, 811 Enterprise Dr., stated that he opposes the stop sign. He suggested that we crosswalk lights we have at Llanos and Main. 4. Approval of Minutes from the September 25, 2023 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting Motion by Touchett, seconded Hoechst to approve the minutes from the September 25, 2023 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting. Motion carried 2-0.  5. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Required Stop at Enterprise Drive and Llanos Street Chief Dresser stated that they had received increased complaints of speeding and traffic on Enterprise Drive. The stop sign was intended to help decrease speeds and increase safety. He stated he no longer supports a stop sign at this location. He stated that he recommends an island or bump outs on Enterprise, installing a blind resident sign, and adding new paint to the crosswalk. He added that he does not support speed bumps. Touchett thanked the neighbors for coming and providing feedback. He added that the committee will take a look at all the options and come back with a solution. No action was taken on this item. 6. Discussion and Possible Action Re: An application for a liquor license premise amendment from ICE, INC, located at 451 E Verona Ave, Michael O’Brien, Agent ICE, INC is requesting to amend their premises description to include the new addition to the ice arena. Staff recommend approval of the amendment as proposed. Final approval will be contingent upon building inspector and fire department approval. Motion: To recommend that the Common Council approve an application for a liquor license premise amendment from ICE, INC, located at 451 E Verona Ave., Michael O’Brien, Agent, contingent upon final approval from the building inspector and fire department. 2. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Resolution 23-039 Naming Private Roads for 911 Purposes at 1979 Milky Way Currently all of Epic is under the address 1979 Milky Way. By adding private road names within Epic, it will be easier and quicker for emergency vehicles to find the exact location of an emergency. Motion: Recommend that the Common Council approve Resolution 23-039 Naming Private Roads for 911 Purposes at 1979 Milky Way 3. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Enterprise Drive and Llanos Street Intersection Improvements Continued discussion on the Enterprise Drive and Llanos Street Intersection  CITY OF VERONA RESOLUTION NO. R-23-039 NAMING PRIVATE ROADS FOR 911 PURPOSES AT 1979 MILKY WAY WHEREAS, the City of Verona recognizes that there is a need for road names per Section 14-1-70(u) of the City Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the road names assist emergency vehicles and staff to find a property; and WHEREAS, the Common Council supports naming private roads; and WHEREAS, the following road names will be added to 1979 Milk Way in the locations noted on the attached map: 1. Annex Drive 2. Webb Road 3. North Lot Drive 4. JW Dock Road 5. B Dock Road 6. Farm Service Road 7. Farm Dock Road NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City includes the above road names to 1979 Milky Way.
