CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2014 1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Evan Touchett at 5:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Present: Evan Touchett, Luke Diaz. Excused: William McGilvray. Also present: Bill Burns, City Administrator, Bob Gundlach, City Engineer, Ron Rieder, Director of Public Works. 3. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to approve the minutes of the May 12, 2014 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 2-0. 4. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to approve the affidavit of correction in the Scenic Ridge Subdivision. Motion carried 2-0. 5. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to approve the Developer’s Agreement for Cathedral Point Phase IV contingent upon the City Engineer’s approving the construction drawings and documents. Motion carried 2-0. 6. Discussion regarding the North Neighborhood Plan: Bill Burns reviewed with the Committee the status of the North Neighborhood Plan and explained that Adam Sayre was unable to attend the meeting due to a family emergency. The Committee members discussed the possibility of creative stormwater management for the area and how roadways and utilities would be constructed should a Traditional Neighborhood be considered. No action was taken. The Committee asked that this item be placed on a future agenda when Mr. Sayre could be present. 7. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to reject the bid received for the 2014 Street Rehabilitation Project. Motion carried 2-0. 8. Discussion regarding the Downtown Redevelopment Plan: Ron Rieder explained that he has a meeting scheduled with the City Administrator, Planning Department and City Engineer to discuss the Downtown Plan and begin to prioritize future improvements. Recommendations from staff will be placed on a future Public Works Agenda for further discussions. 9. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to adjourn. Motion carried 3-0.
